rear camber

I have what appears to me to be excessive negaitve rear wheel camber. It is visually obvious that the rear wheels lean in at the top, especially the passenger side. The shop that aligned my 944 didn't know how to adjust this, can it be adjusted, and what does it take?

Yes, it can be adjusted through the third and last eccentric bolt (part # 30A) that holds the rear sway bar dog bone bushings.
First loosen up the two 17 or 19 mm hex nuts (part # 31) then rotate the eccentric hex head (part # 30A) behind the suspension arm.
Wheel spindle up will give you positive camber and down is negative camber.
From my experience, max upward adjustment is zero camber (wheel almost straight standing up).
When you adjust the camber, the toe angle will also be affected so you need an alignment done after that.

When the camber was adjusted with the eccentric, 2 things happened.

#1 the passenger side rear adjusted to about -2.5 degrees (more than -1 degree off).

#2 the ride height for the passenger rear side went way down.

This is with the eccentrics adjusted the same on each side.

The top of my passenger side rear tire is above the lip of my fender, the driver's side rear is about 1" to 1/2" below the fender lip.

Could this be a torsion bar issue? Could I gain the ride height on my passenger side by adjusting the torsion bar, and if so will I add positive camber by raising that side?

With what I've found on this car since I've owned it, it is certainly conceivable the PO produced a mis-matched torsion bar condition.

It looks like your alignment shop accidentally loosened and adjusted the spring plate eccentric while adjusting the camber eccentric.
The camber eccentric will only affect the ride height just a little you won't even notice it.
What was the reading before and after?
If the camber reading got bigger, they need to turn the eccentric the other way.
I will stay away from that alignment shop if they cannot do it right.
Good luck.
