N/A 924 on steroids
Howdie folks
does anybody here on the board run a 924, N/A with mods dual plug, head work , high compression , high revving , that sort of stuff if so , what results ? 924.org seems to indicate that not many folks are doing it with the 2L block , or they aren't succesfull or not for any reasonable prices

theres nor much aftermarket for an n/a car, which makes it a ***** to mod cheaply. Most people opt to upgrade to a Turbo and mod that, as that responds well to mods, and has a better aftermarket base than the n/a. Im sure you can find a few nice examples of that done to a car, but it wouldnt be worth it. For the price you would pay, you could find a decent turbo car, and throw some bolt ons, and be doing better than what hte 2L will put down to the ground.

The stock 924 with the small engine, isnt really worth modding. I have seen alot of guys made custom supercharger kits for the 2.0L but even then they are only at 160-170hp but Im not sure of the boost they are running

hmm, bummer
bit used to the 911 flat six, and all the options there are on that one, huge aftermarket there... thought i could be cool , to get a 2 liter , and up the stakes a lil bit... you know , hot cam , high compression , high revs... i know about the turbo option , recently drove one, but the lag would bite me in the ass one day, either that , or boost addiction going out of control and out of budget... oh well, was just checking , first the 911, i'm picking up the engine next week friday... another 3-4 weeks and i'll probably be to busy driving that one to even think about modding hte 924 ![]()

I had a '77, eurospec hi-compression 2.0, w/ ported polished head. I swear my stock '83 1.8 Scirocco was just as fast. Reportedly the'77 had about 125hp. That car handled good, but the power was dissapointing. I think you'd be much better off to get rid of the '77 and start looking for a 951. Short of dropping an S2 or 968 motor in the '77, I don't think you'd ever hope to make it nearly as fast as a stock 951.

stijn, you may want to check out the may edition of 911 and porsche world, as they have an interesting article about a modified 924, and 944 for "club-racing" basically, they are allowed to install a "piper" camshaft, larger throttle body, and a couple other things. seems like they get 143bhp at the flywheel. also, you can opbtain compomotive wheels, as they are very lightweight. just a couple ideas.
