distributo cap and rotor

well I got my ditributor cap and rotor yesterday. I was trying to save a little money after the clutch job took it's toll on my wallet. I ordered from another parts company: "whispers (autozone)" Ans low and behold I git the wrong parts!!! I reckon you git what you pay for

The rotor comes with and without the metal adaptor. Is this what you see as different?

When was the last time you changed your timing and balance belts and/or cam chain and tensioner?

I don't know if it was just a freak accident, but the PO of my car installed an Autozone cap & rotor and the rotor self-destructed. Full-on meltdown in there. Not saying yours will, but... I believe you do get what you pay for

Along this topic, can someone with OEM cap & rotor take a picture of the inside of their cap? I want to see if the little bit of wear I already have in mine is normal.

The rotor has a resistor in it. If you are using an after market coil or other higher than stock voltage source you can blow it up -- melt it.

well my dist. cap has like a rubber cover around it. The one from auto zone does not. The rotor is bigger around than the cap and has three screws to hold it on. The cap & rotor pelican shows for my year model looks like what I have

The rotor pelican list (bosche)says it does not come with the adapter. and they don't list the adapter. I'll take a picture of my cap when i get a new one but mine looks purdy worn

Sounds like you have the 16 valve distributor cap.
