944 alarm

Can any one help with this one? Just bought a 1990 S2 and according to the option label on the inside of the rear panel, it says it has a factory fitted alarm. Unfortunately, the owners handbook I have is from a 1986 model and it says to operate the alarm, you need to use the extra lock near the drivers side door lock on the rear wing. Well I haven't got one of those! How on earth does my alarm work and does anyone know what will set it off?

Check & see if there is a keyhole in the driver's door jamb.

Good luck,

90 models use the key in the lock on the outer door handle to activate. It's combined with the central locking system. There will be a flashing light in the lock push button that goes on when you lock the car.
Get the right book for the car.

Definetly no lock in the door jam. Activating it with the key makes sense - only problem is that someone has changed the door lock buttons so I've got no flashing light. As you say, I need to get the right manual.
