Mmmm...sexy brakes...What Next?

My rotors are sexy:-D I finally had enough time off work that I could work on the brakes and I got the slider pin out. Little Dremel tool works wonders here and there. I put on new Frozen Rotors, Hawk HPS pads, new (rear) hardware and seals. I'm still waiting on the front seals to arrive so I can do those as well, the front right seal was pretty badly torn. You can see the sexy rotors at www.fakelife.com/adventures/herbie/

So, what next? I have to change the tie rods and control arm ball joints and put better head lights in, and put the stereo back in. What else should I do? You know, get it ready for summer, general maintence on an 18 year old car. Flush the cooling system? Check sensors? Clean grounds? And does anyone know if it is possible to have the factory clock rebuilt? I think it would be nice to have a working dash clock. Awhile ago in Excellence I saw an advertisment for a Porsche Clock rebuilding company but I can't find that issue. I'm going to go see what google turns up. Is there anything else I should do? Maybe drive it one of these days?

you named your car Herbie?

cooling flush and ground cleaning are both pretty easy and cheap... I've always been told not to fudge with sensors at all unless they're bad. I'd go towards headlight upgrade next. the iceshark kit will blow your mind

Kind of The previous-female-owner named it Herbie when she was like...8 (her dad had it). When I bought it, I told her I'd keep the name.

Where would I take the old anti-freeze? A lot of the shops around here don't take it anymore because they claim they don't know what's in it. Same for oil. As a result, I have a lot of oil (gallons upon gallons) and anti-freeze sitting in my garage.

I want to do the Ice-Shark kit, but I have to wait to get paid and pay off the parts I just bought. I hate waiting...

My car didn't have a name, and I really suck at naming things. a year and a half later, I finally found a name that fit her: Naomi.
I like Herbie... does it fit your car?

Our local landfill takes oil and antifreeze for free. They recycle the oil, and really don't want people dumping antifreeze in the drains, so they're happy to take it. They even gave me 3 five gallon buckets to use also.

Even if they don't take it where you live, if you call them they'll probably have a list of places that will.

The name kinda does fit the car, actually..which is somewhat odd..lol.

Thanks for the tip on the landfill, I'm going to call them today.

Just figured out that I didn't post pics of the rotors earlier but you can see them now at
