Swaping to air mass sensor

Somewhere in this forum I red about swapping from air flow meter to air mass sensor for an upgrade in NA 944s. Can someone tell me the sensor recommended, so I can get one to my 944?

Thanks in advance

OK, First I think your talking about going from a AFM (air flow meter) To a MAF (Mass Air flow). I am currently running a stage 2 Huntley RAcing MAF kit that is no longer in production. But From what I understand FR-wilk will be comming out with a MAF conversion full plug and play very soon. Now I have alos heard of some guys running Ford MAF's and stuff, try doing a search and Im sure you will find some nice stuff. Also if you wnna try something else Guru racin also have MAF and MAP conversions. Also check out this web site http://www.splitsec.com/ They sell MAF kits and its basicly the same thing as my Huntley Racing kit.

I was using a FORD unit. Also went with a MAFTUNER for a while then did my own. Funny... the MAFTUNER I used is for FORDs amazingly its the same as the one being sold for the Porsche 944. Simply amazing.

Matching the Voltage range of the stock AFM is not that hard, not with a FORD MAF... just need the right one. Of course having a custom chip burned for the new MAF well now thats smart. Toss in the MAFTUNER or something like it. That setup with a custom chip and you can tweak fuel and timing... imagine that.

Course MAP is better... but thats a different story. Most amazing thing to me is the amount of money some companies get for re-badging products.

I think FR WILk's stuff will be nice.

On the other hand their are plenty of DIY solutions, but if you can wait, his will be designed to work with your car.

Don't forget the signal range is different between the Early and Late DME. Of course if you are switching to a MAF then a late DME swap makes some sense... since you do not have to install an adapter board to chip it.... the plot thickens.
