stupid question, but a quick one...

heyhey, how big is the stock exhaust on an '83 944?

I know i can find this out myself super easy, but i dont wanna lift the car, measure, lower it, go buy what i need, come back just to lift it again..

plan: removing the cat and putting in a pipe.

so what size of a bridge between the two exhaust pieces would i need?

Removing the cat will hurt performance. It needs the low end back pressure created by the resistance of the cat. No cat = rough running.

I have driven both with and without.

Not to mention noise.

yea I've heard pros from both sides of the fence on this one...

I'm just experimenting right now - not saying I'm going to keep it or not...

and as for noise - anything is better than the "bolts in a coffee can" sound I'm getting right now... *rolls eyes*

anyway, can someone answer the question?

PhillysMostWntd 08-02-2005 10:52 PM

im interested in knowing the piping diameter myself, i would imagine its 2.5 in though

Eldorado 08-03-2005 12:09 AM

yep.. that's what i thought too...
any confirmation?

Eldorado 08-04-2005 10:43 PM

still waiting on confirmation on diameter of that pipe... someone throw this dog a bone...

*woof!* :)
