Correct Badging?
Currently the ONLY badge is the SILVER emblem on the hood.
I think I am missing the black "944" on the left rear and the "PORSCHE" on the rear bumper. Anything else? I did a search but found nothing. It's an 84 944 (n/a) |

I rarely see one with the "PORSCHE" on the back so now I am questioning if it was a factory item.
And I have seen one with the Porsche emblem on each front fender near the door. I am having a REALLY hard time finding good info. I am used to American classics and there is tons of info out there such as how many 68 Camaro's SS were made in a specific color with a specific interior, etc.... I can't find anything like that for the Porsche ![]() I am trying to get this car as factory as possible. |

Silver=faded. They do have new silver crests available, though.
There should be a large, 80s style P O R S C H E sticker on the rear bumper, as well as the black "944". The ultimate thing to do would be to take the sticker off, as you already have the name in the spoiler. I'd love to find someone who could write "944" in 968-style italic lettering. |

To the OP: Any badging on the fenders is aftermarket. If the crest on the hood is silver, it has faded from the original gold. The block-letter "944" goes on the passenger (right) side of the car's rear, not the left, above the tail-light. The sticker was factory, but many (most?) have simply been removed because they tend to start to tear as they age.

There was also a "Badge Delete" option. Your car might not have ever had them.

The badge delete option:
"M498-Without vehicle lettering on rear end" The 944's with the lighted "Porsche" panel on the back (added on by the dealer or later in life) just slay me. Because if they still have the factory rubber wing spoiler, and the decal above the bumper, then the back of the car says: PORSCHE PORSCHE PORSCHE Do ya think it is a Porsche? LOL.

I agree, I like the clean bare look.
But as I have said before, I come from the classic muscle car state of mind where the more stock it is, the more it's worth (in the future). Maybe that's not true with a Porsche ???? I just sold my 68 Camaro RS/SS last night, A guy called me from Austrailia while another guy was picking it up. I would have been able to get ALOT more money if I had all the stock parts. |

It is just bolted on there, but you will leave 4 holes or so in the center LP panel that need to be filled.

yea, just lift the carpet and unscrew the 4 bolts...
I have the red "944" plate on the back of the car... I prefer that much more over the "porsche" plate...
