Need used parts? 944 Ecology ROCKS!
So, here's my story:
Last night, my bro-in-law was working on his 944 in my garage. (oil change and hunting down an electrical problem with the wiring to his amp). As he was putting away the "Rhino Ramps" that he used to lift the car up, one slipped and fell very nicely on the front of my 944S2, putting a dent right in the middle of the nose panel - right through the crease/fold of the panel. OUCH! Yeah, I was upset, as was he. Now granted, my nose panel is filled with pimples from riding on the bumpers of 911's on the track, but hey, those are war wounds and give the car a 'personality' of sorts. And I have a DE this coming weekend, and I really didn't want to show up with a big ding on the nose panel. Yeah, it's an ego thing. Anyway, this morning I call up George at 944-ecology (www.944ecology.com). to see if he has something along the lines of a 944S2/Turbo nose panel in Guards Red. Turns out he has one - brand new - painted Guards Red. Price was on par with what Mid-America would charge for a new unpainted panel. Great - now I got a panel. So how can I get it today? "No problem," was George's reply - "You're in North New Jersey - I'll drive down and meet you for lunch - sound good?" It sure did. Within a couple of hours, I had my nose panel and I also had a great time during lunch chatting with George about all things 944, Porsche, PCA, and DE to boot! Just had to share my experience. If you need any Porsche 944 part, give 944 Ecology a call - chances are he's got what you need! Now, how to I take off the nose piece again?!? -Z-man.

It only gets better folks...
Last night, after I removed my dented nose panel, I realized that the panel I bought from George was indeed a non-turbo nose. It was mislabeled as a turbo nose. A left a quick email to George last night. By this morning, there was an email response as well as a phone call stating that he'll be down again to deliver the nose off of his personal 944 TurboS. So now, I've got a new nose panel in my Subaru awaiting installation tonight! Now the cool conicidence: George explained that this nose is off of his 89 Turbo S. This was a car that was in a track incident and the rear end of the car was ruined. The back end of the car was literally cut off and a new rear welded on. I asked him if this car was for sale in Manville, NJ, and if there was an 'S' added to the rear "Turbo" emblem. You see, I looked at this car as a possible purchase a couple of years ago. Gee, it's a small Porsche world! Thank you again, George! Can't beat that kinda service! -Z-man.
