Do you have a factory alarm system. If so disconnect it and try to jumper wire the connection. It is covered in Clarks-garage.com

No spark. Check for voltage at the coil with the key on. If no voltage then the ignition switch is possibly bad. If there is voltage at the coil check for voltage at the injectors. If no voltage at the injectors but at the coil it's most likely the DME relay. If voltage at the both coil and the injectors pull a plug wire, stick a spark plug in and lay it on the intake. Crank the car and see if there is spark.

If not then check that the sensors (speed and reference) are plugged in or that the timing belt has not broke.

When was the last time you changed your timing and balance belts and/or cam chain and tensioner?

How did you test for a signal?

Did you check to see that the rotor is turning?

Did you do the spark plug on the intake test?

Did you check that the HV cable from the coil to the dist cap is intact and connected inside the weather boots. It screws in.

The sensors are close to $100 each. Takes two. I would test them first.

No spark but battery voltage at the coil (the ignition switch works) and at the injectors (the first contact in the DME relay is pulling in).

The injectors and the coil are "fired" by the DME. The DME is looking at a 2 volt pulse from the reference sensor. The DME grounds the coil and the injectors (seperately) to "fire" them.

The question is wither the coil is really being grounded. A 12 volt test light from the posivite side of the coil to ground will blink when the coil is grounded by the DME. If the test light blinks it means the reference sensor is telling the DME to fire the coil. If the test light does not blink then it's the reference sensor -- either unplugged (loose) or out of adjustment or has a broken internal wire. A 'noid' light on the injectors will tell you the same thing.

If the test light does blink then there is a disconnect between the coil and the spark plugs. Broken or loose rotor or the cable between the coil and the dist or even a broken timing belt -- the cam is not turning. Rotor is on the end of the cam.
