she has GOT TO GO
the bottom line is i no longer have space, i am currently keeping the car at my mothers, and its gotta go unfortunatly for me.

the bottom line is the first 1000 dollars i see you can have her, dont be afraid to ask questions, ive been critisized a lot about the condition of the car

see it here 44

if i could keep it i would, but i cant, in a week its going up by the road where im willing to bet some unknowledgeable young kid will want to buy it, but i would love to see it go to a good home, or at least good use

auh 09-17-2005 06:07 AM

does she run? etc etc.?

operationcougar 09-21-2005 01:12 AM

yes it runs, its just not safe for the road- mastercylinder and whatnot and bat. was dead last time i checked it

recent compression test shows that engine is very strong. also this car seriously only has under50000 miles on it

ian - call me at 217-320-1262 for more info

Tapage 09-21-2005 09:58 AM

and what about the interior .. ?

devadv 09-21-2005 11:18 AM

tranny, tell me about the tranny...........

operationcougar 09-21-2005 10:36 PM

the interior, yeah... its not to fancy, not trashed but not fancy either- its good enough that it was a project car before it got aborted, but good enough to still be a project car

as far as the trans im not sure what you wanna know, its a automatic, i just sold a 968 6 speed on ebay about 2 weeks ago that i was going to use(thought about including it with the car but i didnt have time and needed the money as well)

email me for more pics or questions you can also call pretty much anytime of the day at 217-320-1262

EDIT: forgot to add that the trans. is great, it was shifting smooth and quick the couple times i drove it, also was good when it was hot and also when it was cold, we ran a magnetic snake into the trans to see if there were any shavings or anything and it came out clean, even the fluid looked new(though i know its not) also no water

That does not look like a ROW ("euro") car to me. Hows about posting the VIN# here so that we can check it? Better pics?

bryanthompson 09-22-2005 07:00 AM

What wheels are those?

if this car goes to someone parting it out, if they are fuchs, I want them.

Britwrench 09-22-2005 08:03 AM

Has the turn signal repeater lights on the fenders, which can be added fairly easily, but also has the US only side marker lights and bumpers.
So is it a ROW car or a US car with ROW turn signal lights added on?

did you know a site to check all vin numbers . .? I wana be sure the year and specs of mine ..

Capri22racer 09-22-2005 08:44 AM

If they are real euro fenders the lights will be recessed and not just "added" on. Meanily the sheet metal has a recessed box area stamped into it about 1/8" deep with 2 mounting holes. The added on ones stick out too far.

See pic for a real euro frender.

Also note that is not the euro front and rear bumpers, totaly different than the US model. the euro versions look WAY nicer IMO than the added on look US version.

tifosiman 09-22-2005 08:50 AM

It's easy to add euro fenders to a non-euro car.

The crux of the matter here is the side marker lights on the front valance and the rear quarters. I have seen ROW cars that have been certed to be in the US and the marker lights are easy to tell as being add-ons. You can usually count on the front valance having been replaced with a US one fairly easily, so that is not definitive. But the rear quarters are. The ones on the car in the (terrible) photos look like standard US-spec, not added on later. A good photo of them from the outside and inside will tell me if it is or not (well, besides the VIN# which would be the final word here of course). Sometimes the speedo is a tell-tale sign as well.

The front and rear bumper on ROW cars are different, but usually they get replaced with the US items when the car is certed, or if that gets by they get replaced anyway with US units when the car takes the first hit and the bumper disintegrates (and the body shop can't source the ROW bumpers).

as far as the vin goes, im at work and i dont have it on me, but i do know that it is a WPOZZZ... and all that (a row vin)

and my signal lights are inset like that, just not flush with the body

the dash is quite obviously not an domesticly sold dash, as well as all of the dials and what, though the speedo its self has been converted to SAE

also if you had read the description of the car, you can tell i have had the insides outside the car and its definatly not the american pistons - also the very obvious addition of an aftermarket cat.

anything else, i am sure this is an ROW, regaurdless of what has been replaced or added on ill get some better pics if it ever stops raining and my camera works on the same day

Check out the front side markers....they don't look flush like typical U.S. spec. Not that it really means anything.....just looking at 'em. I gotta agree, the rear Qtr panels look like U.S. spec though.

Here's an intersting side note about VIN. I actually bought my U.S. spec 944 in Germany. The VIN sticker on near the battery read WPOAA0..... when I shipped it to the U.S. When my car had arrived, the VIN sticker had been removed as well as a noticable amount of paint beneath it. The VIN that was stamped into the material was WPOZZZ.... with the rest of the numbers matching my VIN exactly. I just assumed that the body rolled off the line with a WPOZZZ.... and maybe the sticker was added to cars that were fitted for U.S. export. never confirmed this theory though.....but now I'm curious

Didn't mean to hijack the thread couger....

I'm digging that sunroof delete. If I didn't already have 4 cars and a cranky apartment manager, I'd jump on this.

operationcougar 09-24-2005 09:04 PM

no problem dangerous, i love your car selection as well, as much as i would love to keep this, like i said it has to go, so i wish sombody would jump on this. there apears to be a wedding in my future, so im sure most of you know how that goes

tifosiman 09-25-2005 01:06 AM

I did read the description.

Good luck selling it without any good pics.

onZedge 09-25-2005 06:17 AM

My car also has a "ZZZ" type VIN stamped on the engine bay side of the firewall by the battery. No sticker. Now you've got my curiosity up.

operationcougar 09-28-2005 12:30 AM

sorry it took so long, as ive been having one he11 of a time with my digital cam, so im sorry but right now all ive got are shots i had to go and take today with my phone, plus it was acting like it was going to rain so the lighting isnt that good, but anyhow here you go

operationcougar 09-28-2005 12:30 AM
