i spoke with a friend yesterday who had some trouble with wheels on a 96 chev pu truck. when he added the shiny wheels the kid installing them did not have the correct lug nuts, so he just used the old ones. I found his wife along the interstate one day riding on 3 wheels, the fourth in the median. he finally got the correct ones. he said the recommended torque is 150 lbs, but he is doing 170 just to be sure. this was while he was rotating them yesterday at the shop. I asked if he had broken one yet, he said no.
