Opinions on MOMO wheels...

I absolutely love the old-style MOMO Corse Volante wheel... but I'm not sure how it would look in a 944 (it looks like it would be at home in a 356 or a 550!).

I dunno. Do you guys think it would look okay in a 944? Or do you think I would be better off going with the new-style Corse

the Monte Carlo

or the Competition

Do any of you have momo wheels in your car? Can I see how they look?

I've been thinking about getting the new-style Corse. More recently, I've been thinking about getting a D-shaped wheel to increase leg room, but I think it would look bad too.

i had the second one in mine, except i had a carbon-fiber overlay on the center, when i had it and loved. when i sold the car i kept the wheel and its now in my rx7. it feels tiny compaired to the original.

Yeah, I've decided that the monte carlo looks too cheap (it probably does look better in person, though)

Do you think the Volante would look weird in a 944?

RE: monte carlo

It looks nice on the 944, at least I thought so. It is cheaper than most of the other MOMO wheels. I liked mine, if not for the air bag issue, I'd still be using it.

I thought about the Fighter with wood trim for my 944 for awhile... I decided that it looks too futuristic for the early 944 dash

I have a Monte Carlo but I think it's going to end up in Michele's Corrado (was in my old Scirocco until I sold it) yes it is very basic looking but I like it, it's minimalist and purposeful. Feels nice too.

I have the corse in my '83, and I like it, but, it is a slightly smaller diameter wheel, and blocks my view of the gauges more than I'd like, but I still kinda like it. At least till I get my Nardi wheel refinished, and back on it. Keep in mind the diameter of whatever wheel you decide to go with.

I have the comp with a 1' spacer in mine. Really like it. But if I were to choose again I would go for the Volanti. I think the more classic styling looks at home in a 80's something Porsche. I cant rember how big the course is but its close to the stock dia. About right for me, I wouldnt want to go any smaller.

Momo Champion with suede upper half. Its a nice wheel, however im a bit bored of the looks. It does feel great though and is just the right thickness for my liking. It has a bit of history with me considering it was also in my 924S before my 944...one of the only reasons i havent changed it with something else.

Another wheel you may want to look at is the Momo ProtoTipo. Likely what i would have replaced my current with. Looks great and has a somewhat old school look to it.

I have a Momo Corse in both the 911 and 944. I love the smaller diameter. I don't like driving 944s with stock wheels anymore.

Where is the best place to get a MOMO wheel?

Do they work with the horn?

They work with the horn. One of the best places to buy Momo products is

LTBMotorsport.com

They have great prices and are very reliable.

my PO put up there a grant wheel that looks just like the old style corso volante wheel you have posted, except chrome instead of the black finish. I like it ok enough to keep it. Would expect it to be somewhat cheaper priced than momo. it does attract alot of fingerprints on the chrome tho.
