Cat Back Replacement Question Looking at swapping out the abortion that is my cat back.. Looking at the PET, i notice a sealing ring between the catalyzer and the exhaust pipe. Part # 94411120300 Does this need to get replaced when I do the exhaust or do i just reuse what I have? |
|
I just reused mine. It's a hard ring - I had to chunk it out with a screwdriver, but it popped out in one piece and fit right on the SFR system. |

They do get old (and possibly corroded) over time and don't seal as well. Replace if corroded. Keep if not. |

I reused the old one when i changed the cat-back on my car. It had a sizeable chunk missing out of the side. I would buy a replacement if yours leaks (which it probably will i think). Getting those bolts loose for the catback flange were a *****...i broke all 3 off intentionally because the bolts were so badly corroded to the studs. |

I had a shop drop the exhaust to fix some stuff on the tranny and drop the torque tube about 2 weeks before I pulled off the exhaust on mine... it came off easy! Oh, I also was using a lift and air tools at the Dodge dealer in town :D |

Lucky, i was to lazy to bring the car to my fathers shop. I ended up getting the rear on ramps and using alot of brute force with open ended wrenches. I was surpised how heavy that stock exhaust was compared to the SFR unit. I had trouble supporting that exhaust with both hands, putting in the SFR with one hand as support was a breeze however. |
