Which side are you refering to, the block or radiator side? If its the block side, take a dremel and carefully cut the hoseclamp off. If its the radiator side, raising the headlights may provide more space. You may consider removing the airbox bracket if you havent already done this.

How is the clamp oriented, can you be more specific?

It is the rad side and I have tried rasing the headlights that helps a little. The hose clamp is pointing down towards the engine. I don't know how it could have been tightened in this position. There is very little room to do anything!! I think removing the air box bracket is the next step. I have tried but I think the bolt is rusted pretty bad and I wanted to leave it alone!

After taking the fans off, I was able to get to that clamp from underneath the car with a stub screwdriver. If yours has a hex head, maybe you can find a socket to fit and get to it from underneath? When I reinstalled, I made sure to orient the clamp so I could get to it from the top for next time

Just to add, removing the radiator fans takes about 10 minutes, very simple to do. Just 6 nuts holding it on.
