It is probably the DME relay, not the pump. About $20 and one minute to replace.

If it is the pump thats not hard either. you just have to change pumps quickly or pump the gas out so it doesnt leak

A pair of vise grips on the fuel line works pretty well to keep the gas where it belongs.

Not even a challenge.
Disconnect the negative lead of the battery..better safe than sorry. Remove power leads from the old pump. One has a bigger "eye" than the other so they are impossible to reinstall incorrectly(2) Loosen clamp Remove hose from filter side (very little loss...check valve) slide pump out (good idea to install new filter at this point) Install new pump in place, tighten main clamp, put wires on and reattach hose going to the filter. Loosen clamp on old pump that goes to the tank, break seal between old pump and hose by twisting QUICKLY...remove hose from old pump and transfer to the inlet of the new pump. Secure clamp. The vise grip idea will work unless the hose is old and brittle. In that case it might crack. Best to have a piece of replacement hose available (can be purchased at any foreign car parts place..it IS metric) The very best job would include the small filter in the tank which can be removed by removing the outlet from the tank. Best done when tank is empty. Hope this helps
