AC Compressor question

I'm no longer a Porsche virgin. $2500 into freshening my recently acquired 951 I've run into an AC issue I hope someone can help me with.

The previous owner installed a rebuilt Denso (Correct part) from Pelican. The hoses were never connected and its only function was as a pulley. Since I know very little about AC compressors, it appears that the two small plates that cover the suction and discharge opening have never been removed. The unit itself is still pressurized from the rebuild. The plates and schrader valve are on the top of the unit and I don't see how the hoses can directly connect to the unit. The hoses fall naturally into a position that would suggest they attach to the side of the compressor, not the top.

Was or is there some pieces that will make it possible to attach the hoses?

Was the previous owner supposed to transfer some type of fitting or adapter to the new unit?

Do the hoses just get wrestled into position on top?

Thanks for your patience?

Just a guess but can the compressor be rotated 90 degrees so the ports are in the right place?

I replaced my AC with a Sanden but it came with new hoses and I made the splice. That was 2.5 years ago.

Unfortunately the ports would then be on the bottom. Did your old compressor have any parts to remove from the core, like 90 degree elbows?

Here is a picture of original compressor sans clutch.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1131112749.jpg

That compressor makes sense. It looks like a 90 degree adapter is above the "S" marks. My hoses look like yours, but I don't have the piece that you have between the compressor and the hoses.

Thanks
