Seat track nut stripped?
I swap seats several times a year for DE and I think I've stripped the nut that holds down the seat track. I can't get the bolt to catcj the threads. It seems like the nut is floating but captured in a bracket (passenger side, inside rear). Can I replace it without cutting, grinding or welding?
Thanks

Get some second opinions after mine, but I think the nuts pretty close to impossible to replace. I had stripped mine on an older 944 and it looks like its underneath the floor in between the frame pieces. Not a fun fix. Your only option is to buy a 911 instead.

This is a common problem for early 944 models . My way is to weld a M8 nut onto a plate and then weld the plate into the floor pan. The stock nut is M6 (for early cars) so you will need the later M8 bolts. Make sure everything is aligned and the seat does slide (by trial fitting, then remove before welding). If you haven't got a welder, then getting everything ready and going to a local shop is the cheapest way. Call the shop first and arrange it.
