Pics of wet rear footwell

Here are some pics of my car rear passenger footwell when it rains. It has to be coming in from below somewhere and only in one spot. My drains are not clogged, but im am unsure of what to do with the 2 drain hoses under the hatch passenger side-the black one and the yellow-white one. Also, the last pic is of the hole under the dash that i had a problem with but i fixed.

Mine? Fibreglassed battery box, replaced rear window seals, problem solved. It was mostly the window seals (I think I've said this before here...)

Good luck!

This is what I did: the 'saddlebag' storage compartment in the rear fenders have a rubber plug on the bottom - I removed it. Let's face it - a 15+ year old hatchback is going to leak a bit. It's more difficult to track down the leak, than it is to let the water leave!

At one point, I had a couple of inches of water in that area.

reminds me of when I worked as a mechanic for an industrial plant, when plumbing had a leak the mechanics would solder or replace it, the technicians would shut off the water.....

Just in case you guys missed this...

The spoiler on the 944 has two small slits near each corner designed to drain away water which would accumulate on the glass back where the rubber spoiler and glass meet. Make sure those are open, dirt tends to plug them over time. A plastic butter knife will work fine and prevent damage. When these drains are open water does not collect on the spoiler. This should help prevent water from finding a way into the hatch cabin.

IIRC there are 2 holes under the carpet in the back seat. Service holes of some sort. climb under there and make sure that they are not missing their covers. It is VERY likely that the water is actually coming up from under the car if this happens while driving. It is also likely that your sunroof linds are plugged or not draining to where they should be. Make sure that you check those. You are going to have a mess under there iand in a hurry if you don't address the problem. Ask me how I know. :P

Mine has a leaking hatch seal, and that same spot is wet.

About those lines... I think they may not be draining where they should be. There are 2 places to stick the lines through and their is also a small drain hole on the bottom of the'saddlebag' storage compartment in the rear fenders. Should i push the lines through the rubber plugs on the side or let them rest and drian through the small drain hole on the bottom? The black one was plugged in but my yellowish one was just dangling. It has to be coming from the bottom though because i pushed my passenger seat as far back as it can go and it rests right on top of the water spot. No water is on the seat though, so it has to be coming from underneath. I dont think its a window seal problem. Maybe it from those "service holes".

The white plastic is the sunroof drain. The black is the gas filler/expansion tank over flow drain. Push them through the grommets.

Check that the top of your doors seal. Seen bent window frames let water in at the top rear.

Pearljaman,

Take the yellowing hose and connect one end into the hole and the other into the male connection (black) just underneith the hatch locks on both sides.

Thanks Ferrara_racing for the tip on the spoiler. Mine were clogged pretty good.
