A bolt by any other grade still smells like a greasy bolt

Alright kiddies, are ya ready for the latest instalment of everyone's favorite game: "Don't do what todwic does!"? Todays episode is centered on torque converter bolts, partical acceleration, and bent shafty things.

Wife takes car to store, comes back, parks in usual spot. Next day, I try to leave to cash a paycheck. Starts fine, but I have no reverse. d@mn! Put it in Drive. Notta. Double D@mn! With the engine running I plop behind my car to check atf level. Hmmmm. Level's fine.

Waller underneath a little ways (with is exactly how far underneath I can squeeze under) Hmmm. flex plat spinnin as per it should. Torque conv. not spinning anywhere near idle speed. That's bad, I don't care where yer from.

Long story short, I don't have time to work on it, so I send it to a shop, hoping that they can drill out and retap the bolt holes. I remember the cold stare the three sheered shafts cast at me after I jacked it up earlier. I just wasn't cut from strong enough cloth.

If yer hoping for a somewhat happy ending for this tale, you should just scurry on to the next thread. That ain't gold in the kettle 'neath my rainbow, but something else you find it pots. Before the bolts sheered, they did thier very best job of enlarging the bolt holes, as loose, spinning bolts are want to do.

Then when the heads did finally pop off, they became 10mm hex heads of death, whirring inside my tranny case fast enough to make a tachyon puke. Breaking my tranny case, bending the dog shaft so that the torque conv. is herby forever inside the transmission that it died in. Luckily I found a tranny here in Fresno for $500 with a 6 mo warranty. (ok, the wife found it, but I callled, fo shizzle.)

There's a special kind of bolt that goes into the t.c., and I had put neric bolts in. (my defense: they fit. guilty as charged) Don't do that.

We all have different strengths and weaknesses.

Your writing style makes up for your lack of bolt selection abilities.
