We've all decided that 80 grit works best. . . .

just kidding.

Depends on what you want, an engine that'll take you 25k or one that'll take you 125k

Here, check this out

http://www.europeancarweb.com/projectcars/0402ec_proj944/

But remember, you'll want to start with a fresh engine. No sense in doing all of this and spinning #2 or burning valves, etc. Get ready to drop some chips too, not electronic ones either!!

I'd like to find part1 and part2 of this (and any subsequent ones)

IMHO, if you're going to be dropping the green dung on performance, I'd look into a low mileage engine from a 968 (it's a 3.0 variocam). You'll pay about the same $$ for this mill (cam computer and all) as you will to have a professional rebuild the 951. It's app. 230hp stock NA and if I'm not mistaken the hp and torque curves are much flatter over the rpm range on this engine due to the variocam.

Here's a good link on a supercharged 968:

http://www.968s.com/engine.htm

If you just want some quick HP out of the mill you have then some of the tips in the first link would be the better

Depending on how much power you eventually want.....I wouldn't consider boring it out just yet. You can easily hit 400HP in these cars without boring.

How much money do you plan on spending? How much work does the car need now? Tires? Suspension? Brakes? Clutch? Battery? Radiator?.
More power doesn't mean anything unless you have a firm plan before starting.

I would get some custom JE pistons and sleeves and bore it to a 3.0. Then go to Vetesse and get their turbo upgrade kit and software. then you will have tons of HP and boost to play with.

Really?

My opinion. Do it right. Do it completely from the begining, or you will pay more in the long run, and have nothing but troubles in between. No peice-meal here. Not if your gonna go for all that power. STRESS on other parts. Repeat it to yourself.

Do it as a package deal.....EVERYTHING, or don't expect great results. IMHO.

Chips (some, at least) alone, without doing MOST of the other things with it........can be, and are HIGHLY damaging, and shortlived, if not followed up properly, and quickly. I think thats a pretty well known fact, IF....your going after "looking to get as much power out of this car as possible".

nice nice, thnx for the imput. the car has a new clutch and starter, all the other parts are in good working condition from wut my mechanic says. the car only has 120,000 kms. (im in canada) so its in good shape. im thinking about geting that level 3 turbo upgrade kit, sounds like it would do some good hp increasing. i need new rims and tires as well, ive got the stock phone dials, i want to go 18's on a 40 series tire, anyone know where to get rims at a decient price or good used rims?thnx.
