Early 944 - Where is the Fresh Air Inlet vent?

I am looking to deodorize my 944 and am trying to locate this vent?

Can someone tell me where to look. I was thinking the fan located on the rain tray but want to be 100% sure before I spray there.

that's the one.

Open the hood. It's at the base of the windshield in the middle of the cowl. I'm pretty sure it's what you've described.

What odor?

fmalgapo 01-09-2006 12:35 PM

Old car smell: consisting of but not limited to: mold, mildew

Check for a water leak under the battery. Fix what you find. Clean the carpets.

Leaks have long since been fixed, i've got some febreze auto spray iim using now to deoderize carpets, but when you turn on the fans, it smells like "old car" :)

SoCal Driver 01-10-2006 06:38 AM

It is an old car. What do you expect? Carithian Leather?

fmalgapo 01-10-2006 06:43 AM

LOL, well my friend's '83 still smells now like the 85.5 I rode in when I was 8yrs old.

Maybe I should swap vents and blower fan ;)

Jack up the radiator cap and drive a 968 under it.

SoCal Driver 01-10-2006 06:52 AM

Actually the biggest smeller is the A/C evaperator. Needs to be cleaned as well as the drain line cleaned.

fmalgapo 01-10-2006 06:55 AM

How do you clean the evap?

SoCal Driver 01-10-2006 07:32 AM

Pull the covers off of it. Clean the drain line. Spray it down and rinse. Make sure the drain line is clear.
