Recommend a shop in Eastern NC
Can anyone recommend a good shop/mechanic in Eastern NC? I live just north of Wilmington, and have spoken with two shops, had my belts, rollers and water pump done at one. They damaged a few of my hoses when they were putting things back together. All fixed now but will not be going back to them. The other one I was not real impressed with (plus the charged 110 an hour labor). The closest dealership to me is about 2 hours away in Cary. Can anyone recommend a shop in the Wilmington/New Bern area?
Of course my preference would be to learn to do this myself. If there are any listers in the area who can give me a hand with this, I have already replaced my chain tensioner which was pretty easy. I will provide the beer and hell my wife will probably grill some steaks up. Any info would really help Thanks Bill |

Bill,
I just had my front of engine service done at European Performance on Hillsborough Street in Raleigh. (Keeping in mind I'm new to Porsche ownership) I thought they did a great job at a reasonable price (estimated at $1100 - $1200), andfit me in almost immediately. They found some other items that required attention, and were patient in explaining things to me (I do a lot of my own automotive work, but some things I draw the line at, lol). The other source I contacted was Valley Motors in Fayetteville, NC; their estimate was $1400 - $1500, with the request I call back the middle of next month to schedule. Sorry I couldn't think of one closer to you.... ![]()
