ebay purchase

Hi. im currently bidding on a dme wiring harness from a 83 944.
A pelican member told be that i may not be able to use this harness since my car is a late 85.5 and that i would have to purchase a later harness. is this true?

note that the only part of the harness i need is the injectior harness's

Same wiring for the injectors. Difference between the two harnesses is how the idle valve is hooked up. What makes you think you need the injector wiring?

mine was smashed during head reintallation after a timing belt got stupid
on the last owner (operation cougar)

Check out Lindsey Racing. Injector harness for 944 N/A is 140 bucks. You even get to pick the color!!

(yes, I AM fishing for a discount for that plug!!)

You can cut into the harness sheathing at the firewall cross over and splice the replacement harness in. I've done it before. How far back is the current harness damaged?

If you need a harness, I've got one from an early 944. Downside - I'm in Canada. PM me if interested.

Then again, maybe one off e-bay for ten bucks might be the way to go...

there is a connector that ian (operationcoagar) tried connecting the bare
injector wires into right between the rear of the intake and the firewall
that where the damage stops. so from that connector to the injectors
is what i need

The eBay one may have a decent set of sensor cables too! These have to be run from the sensors directly to the DME connector. However the 83 has the DME under the steering column so they may be a bit short for the later models that have the DME under the passenger side foot board. Guess you could sell them and recoup some of your expenses.
