Fuch Weight

quick question.

how much does a single 16x8 fuch wheel weigh with out a tire mounted?

also how much would you estimate it would cost to ship four
wheels from IL to FL. striped of tires?

Thank you.
Chris Jobe

If I remember correctly, they might be 8lbs per corner. Not sure if that is with or without tire....

I thought they were about 14 or 15 lbs each.

This is worthless speculation without the part#'s for these Fuchs that you have posted like 14 different threads about.

Get the part#'s. Post them on here. Then we can tell you the weight (unless you would like to simply weigh them yourself, novel idea eh?).

I have found that for shipping wheels without the tires on them, the expense is the package size and not the weight. If you want to estimate your real cost on shipping, you need to plug the box size into the shipping site with an estimate of 20 lbs wheel weight.

Those are 951 Fuchs. They are the lightest Fuchs out there and are highly desirable. I hope you are getting good money or a good trade for them. 911 guys are paying almost $1K now for just the 8's to put on the front of their 911's (due to the wheel structure they fit under narrow-bodied 911 front fenders while the 911# 8" Fuchs do not). Those specific Fuchs have went up in value greatly in the past 2-3 years.

The bare wheels are under 20lbs each as far as your shipping is concerned. As stated before the box dimensions will be the hard-hitter for shipping expense. Generally it is $80-$100 per set of 4 wheels to ship them in the continental US by UPS Ground.

I left the original Fuchs on my 951 when I sold it. Wish I kept them now.

Hard to say. The 951 was already out as an ROW model by that time so they were an option for that car. A check of the option list decal in the trunk area would verify. I forget what the option code for 951 Fuchs is but it is easily found by an internet search. The decal is on the back panel on the drivers side behind the carpet that covers the spare tire well and hatch lock/release mechanism.
