how to hotwire my car?

Ok here is the story. I just got an 83 944 that is currently not running. It may be a spark or a fuel issue, I am not sure which. It cranks, but doesn't catch. The car was running before some work was done, and then once the work was completed it wouldn't start. The owner gave up on it. The problem is that there is an aftermarket alarm on it. there are wires everywhere. Is there an easy way to hotwire the ignition and bypass my alarm connections? I really don't want to spend too much time on it, as I am pulling the engine anyway. All the ignition is intact and I have the key, so I am just looking to energize the circuit so when I crank it I have spark.

Thanks
Graham

I'm removing the alarms on my 83 and looking for the same info. If you get it figured out please let me know!

#1 find out what kind of alarm it is.
#2 If you can find out what kind of alarm it is Pull away the brain (usualy black)

Once you take it off or can find out what kinda alarm it is let me know.

Usualy what happens with most alarms is when you performe service on the vehicle, And the battery is dissconected it kinda Frag's up the alarm and confuses it.

BTW: do you still have the Alarm remotes?

regards
J

Get this it is a big old "UNGO" box alarm. No remotes. The code to re-set it is done with wheels on the face. It looks like an enigma machine. I think it is older than the car. All the wires coming out of it are black, and some are disconnected, and some aren't. If it was fully intact I would just trace and splice, but with some connected and some disconnected I just want to go around the thing.
