Blocked injectors
Do 944 injectors need cleaning on a regular basis?
Ran some injector cleaner through mine last summer and i'm going to do the same again now as i suspect they may be blocked (every now and then i can smell fuel and she will run a little irratic at about 2500rpm in 3rd or 4th in town driving (not noticable at speed or open road). Does anyone clean them on a regular basis and would faulty injectors be noticable only at idle or throughout the driving range?

If your injectors are that old I'd think about sending them off and have them professionally cleaned. I did that with mine several years ago. It made a difference for me. Caveat: Your mileage may vary.

Slight uneveness during light acceleration even after new rotor, plugs, wires, distributor cap. Plus, the car had about 140K on it at that time, and I assumed PO did not do it. I had put about 50K on it myself by that time.

i run a couple bottles of injector cleaner a year...
failing that, i'll fill up with the high-test gas with the injector cleaner addative maybe once or twice. what octane of gas are you using in your car?

98 ron mostly.
Wonder if any condensation from the petrol tank in cold weather would work through to the injectors.

that's the problem right there.
the guys will correct me if I'm wrong, but constantly running a higher octane will actually create carbon deposits... I believe 98ron is about 91-94 over here in north america... and that's too high. i'm sure the guys will chime in if I'm wrong..
