Why wont this thing start???
A while ago, I saw a red 951 on the roadside for sale and figured I would check it out... it was in pretty rough shape and I was about to leave, but I decided to inquire anyways. "It does not run" *I was disappointed* asked what he would take for it... "$1100" SOLD! Anyways, I have been fidgeting w/ it for some time now, and it just wont run! It has perf. compression but wont start.
it has -No spark -No injector fire -Fuel DOES spirt from fuel rail when starting with fuel line off -12 volts to both coil terminals -12 volts to both injector term. What I have done... -switched DME relay w/ working one from my other 951 -replaced referecnce sensors and gapped -replaced wires for sensors all of the way to the harness -checked cont. on new wires -jumped alarm system and even tried my motronic out in car still nothing! Any ideas? Anyone interested in buying car or parts????http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1144044424.jpg |
If you have tried a known good DME from your other 51 and it didn't work, I would start checking the continuity from the ref sensors back to the DME harness. I fought with my '83 44 with a similar issue, it takes some makeshift LONG leads for your meter, but at least you will be able to either detect a break in the harness somewhere, or eliminate it from the possible problems.

PM me the price or put it in here, I am interested. Sold mine a while back, so I need another one. Can't have too many P cars, right?
