E. Bruce Arnn prototype tool

All,

If you haven't stopped by Bruce's website yet, please check it out.

http://www.arnnworx.com/

He is working on yet another tool to assist us with belt tensioning.

I have offered to do a side by side comparison versus the kriket and the 9201 from a novice's perspective, but have not heard a reply as of yet.

Hopefully this tool will prove reliable and we will have another affordable solution on the market. Apparently the AWX was less than perfect (on timing belt, not balance), hence the need for another design for the timing belt.

Go Bruce!!

looks/sounds very cool.

I like it! I'm glad I didn't order his 2nd gen AWX tool to replace the 1st gen I bought... i'll be first in line for this one, though.

I was just about to order his 2nd gen tensioner. Im glad you posted this. This tensioner looks like it might be the best alternitive to the 9201. Thanks

Like Bruce said in a note to me recently -- "time is money", so he must be pretty confident that this time investment is worthwhile.

Anyone know the asking price for the new tool?

Krikits all the way! And great service from Bruce, too.

Has anyone seen the "tuning" type tensioning tool at jageng.com? Apparently, 928 belts can be tensioned according to their pitch. Interesting.

EuroShark 04-04-2006 02:33 PM

I've heard that about 928 timing belts too. I think i'll try that method when i do my timing belt:D
I'll be ordering tools from that website if i do end up getting the 944 i've got my eye on.
