vinyl hose
heyhey..
went to the hardware store today and i was dumbfounded when the guy told me they didn't sell black rubber tubing. Well, they did.. but it was for a washing machine... and cost an arm and a leg.. in any case, and dont flame! lol as a *temporary* measure, I replaced one vacuum line under my air filter with a piece of vinyl tubing (this was before i found the real vacuum leak that's causing my car to stall...) thinking it'd help my cause.. I'm not driving with it in there (at least I didn't plan on it) for fear that it'd melt... i just did it to test. are my fears sound? could a vinyl tube melt in the ambient temps that are found under the hood?

i think it might melt, though i am no expert. i'd get some fuel grade hose from the auto parts store.
i am glad you found the problem. what a pain in the arse.
