Belt tensioning instructions
Well, this is kinda long, but for anyone who doesn't have access to a copy of the 944 Workshop manual, here is a scanned copy of the information on the installation and tensioning of the cam belt and balance shaft belts. Hope it's helpful

You know.......I think the specs on the timing belt are the old ones.......... Those are awfully low.
I normally just tighten mine between 3-4 and call it a day...... New or old..... hehehe
