wanting to paint the LT-1 project car this color. What do you think?
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1145320316.jpg
The car is currently Guards Red but my wife and I love this color. I was going to start by painting the engine bay since the motor is out and then paint the rest of the car. What do you guys think of the color?? Speedy:) |
I vote ......change the color.
|
That blue is pretty great. Everyone's gramma has a guards red 944
|
i agree.
If it were me, I'd look at the paint that bmw uses on the X3 and X5... the really deep metallic blue with a hint of a sparkle (but not too much!) in it... I think it's stunning... but that candy blue is nice too! Change that red! |
|
that acutally looks damn good with the half polished fuchs and the chrome trim around the windows...
|
Take input from others, then do want you want. I'm sure you got some resistance on the hybrid move. I am getting the same from what I am doing to our 944 (stroked / supercharged / full suspension / etc). BTW the blue is beautiful, just do it right, do the jams, sills, pull the glass, etc.

Be sure you do not just paint that color on top of the red - you need a backing color that fits.

Go with Kevin's color...looks awesome

My poor baby...
:p I think keeping it red will make it more of a sleeper. |

Nice, I like that color better than the M3.
|
The blue does look great but changing colors is such a PITA I would spend the time, effort, $$$, on a great paint job with the same color.
|
That blue on the M3 is definitely awesome... if I were to buy an M3 it would be that color. I really like that deeper blue on the car that Eldorado just posted too. Im anxious to see this car completed at a timing belt party some day SmileWavy

kevin0323, that is a cool blue also and I wonder what that would look like on a 944.
Thanks for everybody's suggestions and votes. So far it is 64% paint it blue and 36% keep it red. I understand the whole painting the jams and pulling the trim. It makes the paint job look soooo much nicer but it is alot of work. With the engine out it would be the perfect time to start the paint project but it adds more work onto the swap project at a time when I want to start completing it. Thanks again, Speedy:) |
if you want a light blue for any porsche... Mexico blue takes the cake. It's good with chrome or black trim. And it's a classic color. Mid-70s 911s really.
