I recently swapped out my factory radio for a Blaupunkt Bermuda and noticed the AM reception is non-existent and FM reception is very poor. The reception was always a little weak but not like this.
I know the antenna is in the windshield, so is there an additional wire to connect somewhere? What could I have missed?

If the reception was always weak, I would follow the antenna wire all the way to where it hooks to the windshield and look for damaged or a broken wire. Also check to see if the connection to the windshield is in good shape. I cant remeber if the antenna has an antenna booster or not, but if it does there will be a power wire from the booster that needs to be hooked up. good luck!

thanks...i'll take a look. there was one wire that was connected to the old radio frame (or whatever you call the sleeve it slides into). that's the only wire I couldn't figure out. But it was brown so I assumed it was another ground for something

There is a small black (IIRC) wire that is bundled to the antenna lead. That is the power wire for the antenna booster. Connect that wire to the remote wire (to turn on amps and such) from the radio. PO had mine unhooked and I had crappy reception until I hooked it up.
