Oh ya now that you ditched the back seat you got a place for the dry sump tank. We can build a space with Boeing cf surplus, vent to the underside (that oil tank is hot)...
|
Good idea... do you think that is necessary? I was planning on putting the bottom of my back seats back in, to make it look better
|
Dry sump is really cool but defiantly not necessary. But if I had to buy a new Porsche pump at 600(oh my ackin arse) bucks i would think about it. The new Z06 and GT40 are dry sump.
|
that would be pretty nice and sweet to brag about.... i just rebuilt my old oil pump... cleaned up real nice. It should work good :0
|
I got all the fittings for the oil housing today. They look sweet and work great! I will post the part numbers and prices once i return home. The total for three parts was $31 or so.
I got them from American Flex Ballard, Wa - guy named Eric, smart guy, very helpful and knows a little about porsches +++ - subsidiary of American Hose and Fittings based in Kent |

Oil system build up - PARTS
I have purchased all my parts for the oil system. It was a punch in the stomach. BUT! 944 online wants to sell you something for $350 with rubber lines and a smaller cooler. This is stainless lines and nice adapters, PLUS the fun of building it yourself. +++++++! $260. So its a saving of $90, worth it???? its up to you to decide. For me its worth it to build it yourself... i probably would have done it even if it was more expensive. Here is the parts list -

Why would you want to get rid of super rad cool light bar that says "PORSCHE" on it. Isn't it every porsche owner's goal to have as many porsche badges as possible on their automobile? I'll trade you my old waterpump for your lightbar. ;)

You are correct. I am removing it... i just keep on forgetting with all this engine work. Anyone want a light bar?
|
Very Nice, Im going to try and attempt myself what you have just completed doing. Rebuild the engine, You're guna have to video the first time you attempt to start'r up

I may have missed it, but I'm hoping your going to do something useful with this project, like but it on the track and not just turn it into a street rod.
