Ohioans saw a nice 944 for sale last night

Was going to the local Super Wal-Mart to pick up a couple of things in Canal Winchester (Columbus Suburb) and there saw a nice 944 for sale at the corner of the lot.

It's had a recent re-spray from Alpine white to white pearl. The maroon interior was very nice, with the exception of the cracked dash and faded carpet beneath the rear hatch.

Car was a stick shift with 166xxx miles for $3850. Needs tires. And to think, my sunfaded 944 is still sitting in my driveway unrepaired after $1400 of parts and tools and the purchase price was $3700. I damn near cried. The only consolation is that when I was 16 and lusting after the 944 so badly I would have paid double for Guards red.

I am uncertain of the year, and the wheels were either cookie cutters or fuchs, I'm not that certain, wasn't looking at them that much.

If someone nearby wants a little more info and are serious, I will go back and check the car out a good deal more intensively prior to a lengthy trip.

If you are still looking for some help (or someone to drink a beer and watch you work) let me know. I got wrapped up in some of my projects lately (had to pull the clutch on my 87 last week) and I figured you had yours all wrapped up.

I am closer than i would have guessed if you go to that Wallyworld. I'm maybe 10 mins from there.

Anyway, I have to do a timing belt swap on mine soon (!) and maybe we could barter a little if you would be interested in looking at a dent I have to pull on my car.

Pete,

Sent you an e-mail. After tear down the job seems to be nowhere near as daunting with the proper tools. It also helps that none of my seals are leaking and the water pump has been replaced sometime fairly recently.
