Cleaning fuel injectors

It's time to R&R my cam gasket, and while I'm in there I want to reseal the fuel injectors. I've read quite a few tips on this, and now have a couple of questions.

Hugh recommends hooking up an air hose and backflushing the fuel injectors at about 100lbs air pressure. However, is this pressure necessary? Can I hook up 12 volts to the injector to "hold" it open and then backflush it at a lower pressure? Will the solenoid inside burn out if it's asked to hold 12 volts for any length of time?

I have a couple of spare injectors - maybe I'll try this and let you know how it worked out.

At any rate, thanks, all, for the help.

Garage
Here is a whole thread on this
Has anyone had their fuel injectors cleaned like this?
I personally dont see how you could get them as clean as www.witchhunter.com does.. I dont think holding them open with 12 volts would be good for them. Witch hunter pulses them while sitting in a ultrasonic cleaning tanks and they do this three times. Seems to me this would dislodge anything in there. Using compressed air and carb cleaner seems to me to be the best alternet to witch hunter. Just my .02

Witchunter keeps flow testing, and re-cleaning them till they all fall within 2% (or better) between all of 'em. He also replaces the screens in the injectors with new ones, and they have all new O-rings, and pintle caps on them when ya get them back. He'll tell ya right up front, if the bodies are leaking at all, and ya don't get charged for that injector, since its now known to be no good, no matter how clean ya get it.

Thanks, folks. I did read that post before. I think I'll send my spare set to Witchhunter and let them deal with them. I can drive the car the way it is till the injectors come back. I've got reseal kits, so I'll do that at least.

Thanks again!
