16v reference sensor help

Hi All,

Reading some old threads to diagnose a no tach move, no start issue and I am focusing on the reference sensor.

I am pulling the sensor to check height adjustment (I may have inadvertantly moved upon new install). With the 16V setup of the throttle body at the back, is there a way to remove the sensor without removing the hard plastic air hose directly above. I have removed the install screw on the sensor but it is too long to pull out of its channel without bumping into the hose. The connection with the throttle body is a PITA so I am trying to be creative. Suggestions are greatly appreciated!

thanks,
peter

Update question: now I realize that even if I can pull the sensor out of the sleeve I probably won't be able to get to the adjustment screw. How many and which parts will I have to remove?! I'm going back in to see what I can learn.

thanks,
peter

Another thing to check is to make sure your DME is getting power. Check the voltage down at the pins on the connector. If there is no volts, first thing to look at is DME relay.

Thanks Justin! I've decided to put the sensor back and rule everything else out - seems easier. Until then, if someone has removed and adjusted this sensor WITHOUT removing many parts I am all ears!
