To paint... or not to paint???

Ok, I'm leaving this up to the list...
Should I just blast the exterior of the '83 engine and leave it bare, or should I paint it all: block, head, tower, cam cover, intake. If you think I should paint it, what color? Keep in mind the exterior of the car is silver. Red, Blue, Yellow.....
Hmmmm......
I just don't know?

Thanks,
Nick

That's a hard one, I realy want to paint my car yellow too ( with A pearl) but I like the High gloss of a darker color like blue Or a dark red. Or stay withthe Original White With again a pearl.. It's hard you just gotta see what car, any car looks like with the mentioned colors of you're choice.

Actually, I agree with Nynor to some degree. Pink. A sexy female should be pink on the inside.

If I were going to paint it....I would go with red or blue but not yellow...not with a silver car anyway. Yellow would be great on a black or navy blue car. But I've also seen a couple of pretty awesome looking engines on here that had no paint on them. Pokey, is that what happened to your car..playing with the pink part instead of driving?

Hey Nick,

My mistress is white and I just had her intake manifold powdercoated silver. It looks awesome! I don't think it would look as good on a silver car. I think red would look hot on a silver exterior.

Hey Pokey, still got a hot bead on a new pcar? Stick to the rum instead of the pink next time. :-)

Well, I have narrowed down my decision to red or blue. I am leaning a bit towards the blue, but we will just have to see. I have access to a powder coating booth so I suppose my imaginiation is the limiting factor.

Later all,
Nick

Gostridr, I've got my feelers out, but I just started a new job (it'll be nice having benifits again). So, I'm still a month or two away from buying. Socking away a little cash in the meantime. I'm kind of thinking I might go 951...

Go gun metal gray. Mix lexus pearl white and black 50/50. Looks like pure metal, clean and virgin.

Does anyone know if painting the block will affect heat dissapation or will the water cooling take care of that completely? Never thought about whether the paint will affect the cooling or not. I wouldn't think you would want to do that to a 911 engine but maybe it won't matter on a water cooled one...not sure anyone know? Anyone ever paint their motor?

I was wondering that same question so i Asked Albert From Broadfoot racing and he said he just cleans um realy good most dont require painting. But when they do he uses as high temp ceramic paint.
