Fun with the VW/Audi parts bin, aero wipers

I'm sure at least a few of you will think this is a huge waste of money, but I needed a new set of wipers and decided to adapt a set of bosch aero wipers from the Audi and VW parts bin to fit my 944.

They look quite nice and are significantly lower profile than the stock wipers, and hence probably a lot more aerodynamic.

I actually only bought one TT arm and blade to try out the sizing, so I wouldn't be stuck with two, but it really fit perfectly.

I used an Audi TT driver's side arm with a Golf passenger side(19") blade. The TT arm is 17" long, versus our 16" long arm, so there isn't a huge difference. I would like to find a 20" aero blade from a different VW, because that would give even better coverage than the 19", but I'm leery of going to a 21", which is what the Golf driver's side blade is. If any of you have a VW with a 20" blade, tell me and I'll order one to try it out.

The part numbers I ordered are:
TT arm: 8N1 955 407D $41
Golf blade: 1J1 955 426B $14

I took some pictures I can upload tonight.

are you going to use the same blade on both sides?
otherwise it looks kinda goofy...

Of course, I just need to order another set, now that I know these fit. I had a very hard time finding a wiper arm nearly as short as ours, and I picked the TT arms by eyeballing them in a picture. I wasn't able to measure them before ordering one.

This way, I also found out that I'd prefer a 20" blade if I could find one.

They work nicely so far and I can actually see over them to see the hood now, unlike the stock wipers.
