Window Trouble

Two problems
1. I cannot roll the pass side window up or down from the pass side it only works from the drivers side. Also sometimes once down it will not go up for a few min after a few tries, I think it may be a bad connection.

2. Yesterday I was rolling down the pass window and I heard a bang from the door. It sounded like the window came out of it's track and fell. The glass looks to be ok.

How should I go about taking care of this?

First thing you need to do is open up the door panel and see what you can see. It might be obvious, but you dont know until you look at what is going on in there.

If it's like mine the actuator broke and needs to be replaced. Take the door panel off and look, but i'm guessing it's time to buy a window actuator.

what is a window actuator?

the motor that pushes the window up and down...

my vote is on the switch.... switch the passenger side switch with the drivers side *drivers window* (provided THAT one works) switch, and see if that helps.

try cleaning the contacts on the switch with somethin that can access the contacts, ie a flat head screwdriver and scrape the surface to make it shiny. do this for all contacts and ur switch is good as new. with the window clunk noise, take off the door panel and check out whats goin on. Could be that the window fell off the reulator, or the actuator's broken as it has been mentioned. Check and see if all the hex bolts are in and everythings tight and aligned.

I think I need a new switch.
