Porsche Crest Piston ring specs

i am rebuilding a 84' 944 engine and need to know how to check the ring size that i need? engine was possibly rebuilt previously.

I'm not an expert, but I'd start by measuring the diameter of the Piston. I've seem them in standard and then .5mm over. I have an 83, and have left my service manual with the machine shop I'm using for a rebuild, but if I remember correctly the standard piston is 100.00mm. Once you get the diameter of the piston, you can order the appropriate rings.
