HELP! Exact muffler dimensions needed

I am replacing my (rattling) muffler on my N/A '86 944 and will be putting in a universal Magnaflow/Flowmaster (weld in) Does anyone know the exact length of the mufflers 'body' and whether it's a centre in/centre out or offset in/offset out design? I could go under and measure it up but I thought I'd save myself the hassle. I believe it is a 2.25" diameter but I may be wrong.

Thank you for any and all help!

It is 2.25" diam. pipe. I believe it's 16" long by 10" wide. It's center in and center out. I replaced mine. Not 100% on the dimensions though.

Thanx man - turns out it's the cat thats destroyed inside! Now it's back to square 1 (a pricey $#%^&* square!!)

You can get a universal cat from Magnaflow not too expensive that can be welded in. That's what I did. It's supposedly higher flow. And it's a lot smaller and lighter.

I actually got a good used cat (factory) to put in already - I lucked out as they are rediculously pricey! Otherwise, that's exactly what I was gonna do!
