Porsche Crest Wiper Switch

Just a minor gremlin in my '87 924S....

Occasionally, the wipers begin to operate in "delay" mode all by their lonesome. Sometimes when I operate the left turn signal, sometimes when I start the car. I usually pull the fuse to stop it (unless it's raining). Not so much a problem as a source of aggravation after a while.

Can anyone think of a simple, permanent fix, or is replacing the wiper switch the probable best course of action? I'm pulling the steering wheel for replacement within the next week or two, so if the switch needs to go this would be the perfect time to do so.

Thanks for your assistance!

Where's this intermittent wiper relay? I think mine needs replacement since my wipers work except for the intermittent setting.
Sincerely, Francis

On my 924S, it is relay #10 on the relay board, lower tier, 3rd position from the right. #12 on my car isn't used, #11 is the turn signal relay, and #9 is the horn relay (has a 16 amp fuse on it's top).
