If I can get the information that would be great or where to find out this information on the inter-net would also me great. I can not seem to get it from my local Porsche dealer or from local Porsche repair locations. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mike   |
Do you have the suspension yet?
If not, I've got a complete rear suspension assembly sitting on the floor of a warehouse in Puyallup. Basically, there are two widths of 944 suspension- Early and late. The early cars are everything up through 1986, while in 1987 the rear track was bumped out to make room for the anti-lock braking system. So all steel banana arms and late 1885 and 1986 aluminum arms have the same early width. Everytthing from 1987-on will be a fuzz wider. |
I have a ( I think) 86 version at a remote location and a 87 in my pole barn.
The reason I say I think is I did not take measurements and I can not compare it to the 1987 version I have at home. My issue is I do not want the wheels/tire sticking out beyond the rear fenders of my kit car ( http://www.wombatcar.com/ ) I am going to use 944 cookie cutter wheels. Your messages may help in clearing up my question. I have a 091 transmission and a 2.4l TIV. I want to use the 944 rear suspension (spring plates, trailing arms, backing plates, stub axles, etc) and given what you say about the 86 version it should work. If it doesn't, I may e-mail you. Woodinville is not that far from your area. Thanks, Mike http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1150761944.jpg:) |
