My power windows stopped working....help... I checked the fuse...it was fine...I replaced it anyway but still no good....is there a hidden relay or something......???? the motors are good....I can get them to work when I apply a 12 volt shot....but they will not work with there respective switches......

There should be a relay for the windows in the fuse box...there is on the "late" 944s...

Remove the switches and clean the contact areas and I will bet they work.

This a common issue and most often solved by cleaning the gunk out.

Check to see if the plug separated from the window switches . If either side is out the windows wont work.

I second, checking the switches, it worked like a charm for me.

If one is not connected the other will work but the mirror switch won't. At least this is how mine is. My passenger side is not connected but the drivers side works fine but the mirror switch must be in line with the passenger switch.

Power window relay is under the dash right above the gas pedal.

Check this thread: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-924-944-968-technical-forum/289659-pelican-oldy-924-newbie-elec-window.html

Thread is still on the opening page. Pays to keep tabs on what is being posted.

That did it.....found the relay right by the accelerator tucked under the dash.....the relay wasn't bad....one of the wires had worked it's way out of the connector.... put it back it and they work.....so how came the Porsche manual never mentions that relay..??????

THANKS GUYS FOR ALL YOUR HELP......NOW GET ME SOME POWER

thanks again.....

Knowing where the window relay is located is one of the secret hand shakes.

SoCal Driver 07-01-2006 03:47 PM

Define "cycle the lights".
