Review of Motive Power Brake Bleeder
I just received my Motive power brake bleeder from Pelican. I used it after installing a new clutch slave and then bled all 4 brakes. I opened the box and pulled out the canister. I then removed the pump to pear inside. There were still plastic shaving inside from when they drilled and tapped the hole for the pressure gauge. After cleaning out the shavings I filled the canister with 2 quarts of brake fluid. I removed my brake fluid resevoir cap and installed the Motive cap. I then pummed up the Motive to 10PSI, put a hose on the bleed nipple which went into my "bad" brake fluid container. I opened the bleed port on the slave and watched the brake fluid flow. The clean brake fluid in the Motive is pressurized and flows up to the master cylinder to replace the fluid which gets flushed out the line. After the clutch line was bled I moved to the rear and then the front brake calipers. All the bleeding took only 10 minutes which is much less then using the partner/wife/girlfriend method. I wished I bought the power brake bleeder years ago.
The good. Fast clean easy to do with one person The bad plastic shavings in the bottom of the container pressure guage doesn't go back down to zero when the pressure is released. Speedy ![]()
