There are way to many variables as to why it wont start for anyone to really help you. You just need to start troubleshooting everything. Two things you need are spark and fuel, so do all the checks to make sure you have those. Then start checking all your sensors, MAF sensor and so on. www.clarks-garage.com would be a good web site to help you with all the different checks you will need to do. Hope this helps.

what happens when you turn the key? anything at all?
Sounds like he has the same problem as me ....
It sounds like his car is cranking. |
it cranks it is getting fuel but no spark.
Make sure you are getting power to the coil. Then check the coil wire to the distributor then check the cap and rotor. Let use know what you find.
it has power to the coil
do you have spark coming out of the coil wire?
no i dont think it did i tested all the stuff a few months ago
If you dont have spark out of the coil and you have the correct power going to the coil then it is your coil that is bad. That is assuming you coil wire is good.
ok i will check that later today
it was the coil it runs now
well when i tried starting it died right away and it will keep dying is that due to bad gas
Let me see if Im understanding you. You put in a new coil and it runs now but it continues to die after starting it. Or is that what was happening before the new coil? Im a little confused on your last two post.
i replaced the coil and it started then when i give it gas it will die or if i just let it idle it idle bad and will also die. oh and my tach doesnt work
Clark's Garage site.
Read it all. Look at the diagnostic procedures. Follow them completely, step, by step. Miss one, (no tools, or whatever), well............good luck. |
Probably some vacuum leaks also.
