side marker confusion

I've known for a while that my passenger side markers are out. (Haven't had the time to check the bulbs and whatnot) Today I noticed that when my headlights are on the passenger markers are off as expected... but instead the passenger side turn signal is constantly lit. Activating the signal makes it flash between brightness levels.

Anyone know what's going on here?

I'm not sure if I am understanding you correctly, so if I'm not I apologize. I am thinking you are telling me that your parking light on the right side is on when the headlights are on. If that is what you really said, then that is normal...if the left is not on, then you need to change the bulb in the left signal light. These bulbs have two filaments and one is on when the lights are on and the other is for the turn signal which is why it is flashing between on and brighter. At least I think that is right. You should probably change the bulb in your left signal light and see if both lights are not on during the time the headlights are on. Side marker lights are probably just bulbs as well.

Somebody took it all apart and crossed the wires

I thought the wires might be crossed, but the side marker doesn't flash when i turn on the right indicator.
