Bucking on deceleration
Is there a rubber piece in the transmission mount that can deteriorate or delaminate? My car now bucks and makes
grinding noise in the lower gears when I decelerate . Never used to, was always smooth as silk. Jeff

not sure about the mounts..
is this if you down shift? if so, is it when you go into the gear? or when you clutch out? does it do it when you just take your foot off the gas? or when you take your foot off the gas and brake? more info ![]()

In the lower gears, when I just let off the gas--- It makes such a
violent buck that I immediately push the clutch in. Will have a look underneath today if I have weather on my side. thanks for the reply, Jeff

Check the fluid in your transmission for metal shavings.

When the rubber center goes in your clutch you'll get a "clang" on accleration and deceleration, and when you put it in gear. And they'll be alot of drivetrain backlash that might cause some bucking. But grinding? Probably something else (R&P?...).
