I have owned one Saab. Will never own another.
After working on the Saab several times, I imagined the Saab engineers sitting around a conference room table saying, "Every other car company does it this way. Let's try something different." If you buy the car, you will soon know what I mean.

I drove a 900 Turbo once. That was enough. Never again. I would sob if I ever drove a Saab.

deja-vu
When I worked at an auto parts store, people would ask me a similar question. My reply was to print out a price quote for common replacement parts like a starter, alternator, headlamp assembly, tune-up parts, etc.. I did this for a 900 once (I forget the MY) and when I gave it to the customer, he replied " holy $hit", and left the store. Cost of ownership is a reality you must think about, considering it will eat into your 944 go-fast budget.
